AI bikes to electric cars, the country’s biggest motor show has all this and more. Touted as Asia’s biggest automobile extravaganza, the Auto Expo 2018 kicked off with many big names in auto manufacturers taking the curtains off a number of cars and bikes.

The 14th edition of the Auto Expo is the biggest motor show to have taken place in India, and as such, it will see over 100s of vehicles – almost 50 of them electric and hybrid – being launched and unveiled during the next few days.

As is with most motor shows, the media previews have started early, while the Auto Expo 2018 will open for public from February 9 to 14. Here are five cool bikes and cars that are being showcased at the expo.

Yamaha MOTOROiD concept
Yamaha’s Motoroid is a concept motorcycle that boasts of some interesting technological improvements that set it apart from anything else available in the market. The bike not only looks futuristic but is indeed so in technology as it uses artificial intelligence (AI) to interact with its rider.

The bike which was earlier seen at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2017, uses AI that adapts to various riding styles and even adjusts the motorcycle to suit the rider better.

Renault Trezor
Another futuristic vehicle that was shown at Auto Expo 2018 is the Renault Trezor. According to the car maker, the Trezor is an electric supercar with “simple yet sensuous design”. Not only does the car look great, it also uses cutting-edge technology hidden inside its carbon fiber exterior.

The Trezor concept is 4700mm long, 1080mm high and 2180mm wide with a long bonnet and a two-seater cabin with a coupé-like roofline. The Trezor comes equipped with 21-inch and 22-inch wheels at front and rear.

Honda Sports EV Concept
One of the more gorgeous cars to have been showcased at the show was the Honda Sports EV Concept. This car, which will run on an electric engine, is definitely what all sports cars of the future should aspire to look like. Don’t believe us? Well, see for yourself.

Maruti ConceptFutureS
Next up is the brand new ConceptFutureS from Indian car maker, Maruti. The new concept car has been designed in India by Maruti Suzuki and gives us a glimpse of the design language that the automaker could follow in the future.

Taking the curtains of the ConceptFutureS, Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki, said, “Compact is the natural choice of India’s car customers. Compact needs a fresh design language, one that is bold, confident and dynamic. Our designers have created this brand new design, aggressive on the outside, and bold and inviting interiors. Nothing like this has ever been attempted before on a vehicle this size. ConceptFutureS will define the next generation of design for compact vehicles in India.”

Kia Motors SP Concept
The SP Concept is a vehicle that marks the entry of Korean car maker, Kia, into the Indian market. The vehicle is a new concept SUV, that was showcased in a similar colour – bright orange and white combination – to the Maruti ConceptFutureS.

Once it makes its way out of the assembly line and on to the streets, expect it to go up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. #KhabarLive
