Currently available in two different fragrances, the company has been able to sell about five lakh sachets of the product pan-India. Speaking about the product, Mahanoor Khatoon, founder, Vurqa Wash said to KhabarLive, “While I was pursuing my MSc, I realised that regular wash of Burqas and Abhayas by detergents was making them loose their shine and original color. Thus, with the help of my father who is a chemist, we came up with the idea of making our own detergent that can be specifically used for these types of clothes. Within a year’s time, we were able to make the Vurqa Wash and have set up a team of experts for research and development.”

With an investment of about Rs 80 lakh, Vurqa Wash came into being and has one production unit in Hyderabad and has its R&D team in Mumbai.

The major USP of the detergent is that its unique and advanced shine lock formula fulfills relevant quality standards, specifically solving issues of color fading, dirt/stains accumulation, white patches and discomfort after wash. This product, according Khatoon, is the first exclusive product in India that takes care of Burqas.

In terms of expansion, the founder informed, “Our next step is to launch liquid detergent in bottles and we plan to enter all the metro cities in the next six months. Post that, we will be looking at tapping into the tier-2 and 3 cities in the next one year. Once we have established our presence in India, we will be looking at international markets like Middle-East, Thailand and others.” The product is currently available on Amazon, Vurqa Wash’s website and also in all major retail shops. #KhabarLive
