Former Union Minister and Secunderabad MP, Bandaru Dattatreya is supposed to contest in upcoming Telangana State Legislative Assembly elections from Sanatnagar segment following instructions of the high command of Bharatiya Janata Party, sources said.

As per the sources, in order to make Sanatnagar as stronghold of BJP and to put checkmate to Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the minister of Telangana state and leader of TRS party, who is representing the constituency, the BJP high command is insisting Dattatreya. Yadav, who won from the segment from Telugu Desam Party in 2014 elections and later shifted to TRS followed by assuming charge as minister, has vote bank of both Yadav and Kuruma community in the segment apart from strong support of voters from BC community.

Being a leader from Kuruma community, Dattatreya is also having support of the said communities. Meanwhile, the BJP is focusing on the voters who migrated from Andra Pradesh state who are strong supporters of TDP. As Yadav shifted to TRS, the BJP is focusing on the AP origin voters.

“Being a Member of Parliament from Secunderabad segment with majority support of Sanatnagar voters, Dattatreya is also agreed for the decision of the high command on few conditions,” the sources explained.

Dattatreya is seeking tickets for his relatives from the party from two other segments. Sources said that he is seeking party’s ticket for former OSD Pradeep from Alair assembly segments which consisting of the shrine Yadadri.

The BJP has vote bank of Hindus as well as Kuruma community in few parts of the constituency including Bhuvanagiri, Alair, etc. Another relative Jabardhan Reddy deserves to contest from Rajendranagar segment from BJP. Presently, Jabardhan is looking after the party at Chevella Parliamentary segment. #KhabarLive
