One more aspect of the endeavour to ease traffic problems in the IT corridor of the city has fructified with a flyover taking shape at Mindspace Junction. The new facility promises to ensure smooth flow of vehicular movement in the bustling corridor that has over the years been seeing heavy traffic congestion.
Taken up as part of the Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP), the flyover is to be formally opened for vehicles by Chief Secretary SK Joshi, Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration) Arvind Kumar and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner M Dana Kishore on Friday morning.
The Mindspace Junction flyover was part of the SRDP works taken up here along with multi-level/grade separators at Biodiversity junction, Ayyappa Society and Rajiv Gandhi statue junction. The works for the flyover in the junction commenced in April 2016 and were completed on November 2.
The total project cost at Mindspace junction was Rs 108,59 crore with the four-lane bi-directional flyover needing Rs 48,06 crore while the six-lane bi-directional underpass was built at a cost of Rs 25,78 crore, service roads, utility duct and drain at Rs 28,83 crore with the expenditure towards utility shifting being Rs 5,92 crore.
With the coming of the new flyover that offers conflict-free movement for traffic coming from Inorbit Mall towards the Radisson, civic authorities are confident of having achieved 100% traffic solution at the junction. #KhabarLive
