The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a two-day weather warning in Telangana. The department has predicted thunderstorm accompanied by hailstorm at isolated places in Telangana.

The weather department’s forecast says that the state will experience gusty winds (50 – 60 kmph). The parts which will be affected by hailstorm are Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Vikarabad, Rajanna-Sircilla and Jagitial.

In its forecast, the IMD also predicted light to moderate rain or thunderstorm to occur in several parts of Telangana till Tuesday.

On Friday, Karimnagar, Jagitial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Siddipet and Rangareddy were hit by hailstorm. Ghanpur in Jangaon district recorded the highest rainfall at 3 cm.

The IMD said that a trough at 1.5 km above mean sea level from Chhattisgarh to coastal Karnataka now runs from Chhattisgarh to south interior Karnataka across Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

“An upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level lies over north interior Karnataka and neighbourhood. The trough of low at mean sea level over equatorial Indian ocean and adjoining central parts of south Bay of Bengal persists. An upper air cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas of Vidarbha and Telangana extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked,” the IMD said on Saturday.

The IMD also predicted heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh for 48 hours. Further, the weather department has forecast that light to moderate rain or thunderstorm will occur in several parts of Andhra Pradesh till Thursday.

Meanwhile on Saturday, Adilabad, Medak and Nizamabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41 degree celsius, followed by Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Mahabubnagar and Ramagundam at 40 degree celsius. Hakimpet in Hyderabad recorded the least maximum temperature of 36 degree celsius. #KhabarLive
