Each year, Hyderabad local Ramesh Manickavel does something special for his Birthday. He picks a social cause and then puts a request to his network to support his cause. For this birthday which is on 26th September, Ramesh put up a fundraiser on crowdfunding platform ImpactGuru.com for his cause.

His campaign targeted at Rs. 2 lakhs is dedicated towards supporting the tuition and hostel fees of two underprivileged students Swetha and Dharani.

Swetha is pursuing First Year BCom (Computers – Business Analytics) and Dharani is in her Final Year BSc (Electronics). Both girls are studying in Bhavan’s Vivekananda College, Hyderabad.

Swetha who hails from Mahbubnagar lost her mother when she was 6-years-old. Her father works as a watchman. Dharani who hails from Hyderabad lost her father in an accident 7 years ago. Her mother works as a casual laborer. Both girls belong to the BPL strata of society and needed help to sustain their Bachelors education.

Knowing their financial condition, Ramesh decided to take the crowdfunding route to help Swetha and Dharani with their tuition and hostel fees. Ramesh’s fundraiser on ImpactGuru.com has so far raised over Rs.1.83 lakhs. #KhabarLive
