Since last few days, the talk of Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president and state IT minister K T Rama Rao replacing his father K Chandrasekhar Rao as the chief minister has been going on more vigorously.

Right from MLAs to ministers to TRS party leaders, everybody is talking about KCR stepping down to pave away for his son KTR soon.

The latest comment came from Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan at Tirumala on Monday that KTR will take over as the chief minister at appropriate time.

There have been speculations over the timing of KTR’s anointment. Some said it might happen after the completion of party plenary in April, while others said it might take place in February.

According to the latest talk, there is every possibility of KCR stepping down and make his son as the chief minister on February 18.

The party leaders are gearing up to celebrate KCR’s birthday in a big way on February 17, where he might announce his resignation from the post.

The party leaders are making preparations for the birthday celebrations of KCR at Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad, where he would perform “Adhi Shravana Yagam.”

At least 10,000 party cadres are expected to attend the Yagam, followed by a meeting where he might announce anointment of KTR as his successor.

Soon after the completion of the Yagam, KCR might straightaway go to Raj Bhavan to tender his resignation.

“The next day, his son will be sworn in as the new chief minister of Telangana,” sources said.
