Surprisingly, in the second phase of vaccination for Covid-19 for people above 60 years of age and those between 45 years and 60 years of age having comorbidities began all over the country with a lot of hype. But Telangana Chief Minister KCR has not taken the covid vaccination yet.

Right from Prime Minister to President of India to Vice-President of India, all top people got the vaccine shot. Even in Telangana, several ministers right from health minister Eatala Rajender to panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao took the vaccination.

In the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh, too, Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan and several officials took the vaccination. Of course, AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is too young to take the vaccination nor does he have any co-morbidities.

But what is surprising is that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has not taken the vaccination jab for Covid-19. In fact, when the programme was launched in January, too, he stayed away from the programme.

While all the chief ministers of the country delivered messages appealing to the people to go in for vaccination which is safe, KCR did not even give such a message to the people and there was not a single statement from his office.

“Perhaps, KCR is the only chief minister in the country who stayed away from the vaccination process. We wonder why he has not shown any interest in such an important programme, even after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, minister of state for home affairs G Kishan Reddy and many other top leaders across the country have taken their vaccination dose,” Bharatiya Janata Party official spokesman K Krishna Sagar Rao said.

He said if the chief minister takes the vaccination jab, it will work as an enabler in Telangana state to proliferate the vaccine acceptance amongst general public.

“As a leader of the state and head of state government, KCR was expected to take his vaccine dose sooner than later,” he said.

Rao said it was shocking that the chief minister had not even publicly promoted Covid-19 vaccination amongst public through any message. #KhabarLive #hydnews
