The lockdown makes everything standstill in Telangana state  as the KCR-led Telangana cabinet  will be delayed and other developments too takes a back step.

The lockdown in Telangana has thrown spanner in the works of those who have been eagerly awaiting State cabinet reshuffle. The question that is uppermost in the minds of TRS circles and elsewhere is: Whether Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will go ahead with his plan to reshuffle the cabinet now in spite of the lockdown?  Opinions differ among circles close to the Chief Minister on this matter.

One view is that the Chief Minister may go ahead with the cabinet reshuffle now.  Another view if that he may delay it till the end of lockdown.

The current lockdown in the state will continue till 22nd of May 2021. On 20th May, the state cabinet will meet and decide whether to extend the lockdown depending on the situation.

After two weeks, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan returned to Hyderabad on Wednesday. Tamilisai, appointed as Puducherry Lieutenant Governor, returned after formalities relating to the formation of the new government in Puducherry. Her arrival has enthused Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLAs and MLCs aspiring for cabinet berths.  At the same time, Ministers believed to be among those who could be dropped from the KCR cabinet are anxious. In either case, the arrival of the Governor has made rumour mills active once again.

Raj Bhavan sources said that the Governor arrived here mainly to participate in the International Nursing Day celebrations  at the College of Nursing at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Being a doctor, Tamilisai showed interest in attending the International Nursing Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has postponed the Council elections to be held by the end of this month. Six MLC seats from MLAs quota are going to fall vacant on 3rd June and one MLC seat from Governor’s quota is going to fall vacant on 16th June.
