This time budget session will be more interesting and watch-worthy as beginning is likely to witness a blistering attack on each other between the TRS government and the opposition parties on several issues.

All eyes are on the outcome of the introduction of the Budget without the customary Governor’s address to a joint sitting of the Houses, ‘RRR’ (three MLA’s powrr) that BJP has promised to ‘show’ in the Assembly, and the propriety of going ahead with a protem chairman for the Legislative Council, instead of electing a regular chairman.

Already the issue concerning the Governor’s address has strained relations between Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. Allegations and counter allegations between the Raj Bhavan and the Pragathi Bhaven are continuing, widening the gap between KCR and Tamilisai.

Whether the Budget session will go smoothly depends on how the BJP and the Congress treat the issue concerning the Governor’s address in the Legislature. The BJP and the Congress have apparently chalked out plans to corner the government on beginning the Budget session without the Governor’s address.

The BJP has been criticising the government on the Governor’s address issue. However, the Congress started its criticism late. Yesterday, The CLP leader reacted on the Governor’s address issue.

The BJP’s ‘RRR’ MLAs — Raja Singh, Raghunandan Rao, and Rajender Eatala have sparked interest as two of them (Raghunandan Rao and Rajender Eatala) won by-elections, defeating TRS candidates.

Political observers have been waiting to see Eatala Rajender’s entry into the House as he won the Huzurabad by-election contesting as a BJP candidate, after resigning from the TRS and quitting his MLA post upon being removed from the KCR Cabinet.

Political observers are waiting to see how KCR and Eatala Rajender, who were aides for almost two decades, face each other in the House and how they will participate in the debates after the introduction of the Budget in the House. They want to see whether the TRS would give ‘adequate time’ to Eatala Rajender during debates.

Raja Singh and his colleagues BJP executive member Huzurabad MLA Eatala Rajender and BJP state secretary Dubbaka MLA M. Raghunandan Rao will pay tributes at the Martyrs’ statue at Gun Park before entering the Assembly.

BJP floor leader T. Raja Singh has alleged that the father and son, that is, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and IT Minister KT Ramarao, are speaking lies in the Assembly. He said that the BJP would take up public issues during the Budget session.

The state government is keen on letting the Legislative Council run with a protem chairman. A regular chairman has not been elected.

However, a section of TRS leaders said that it would be better if the party appointed a Chairman and Deputy Chairman for the Legislative Council as two MLCs of the party would get positions.

But KCR wants to go against the opinion of Governor Tamilisai on the protem chairman issue. It is learnt that the Chief Minister is thinking of continuing the present protem chairman Syed Amin-ul Hasan Jafri to keep the AIMIM happy.
