Supreme Court took up the Petition of Congress Leader, Marri Shashidhar Reddy who alleged massive irregularities in the Voter List of Telangana. He also brought to the notice of the Apex Court that not allowing Youth who will turn 18 by January 1st 2019 will deprive Voting Rights of about 20 Lakh Youth.

The Supreme Court has asked the Petitioner to approach the Hyderabad High Court about the Same. If at all the court decides to give a chance to those who become eligible to Vote by January 1st 2019, the elections will not happen before February the next year which will defeat the very purpose of dissolving the Assembly.

February Elections will mean that the Opposition will get ample time to prepare for the elections. Meanwhile, TRS will remain as a Caretaker Government which will be at the mercy of the Election Commission to execute any policy decision. TRS is expecting the Election Schedule to be out later this month unless the court intervenes.
