The most-diplomatic partnership between Telugu Desham Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has turned repulsive after Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP decided to put up a strong fight against BJP for failing to deliver the promises made to state in AP re-organization act.
The deep differences between both the sides has not just indicated about their fallout soon, but also made way for other national parties and their leaders to announce their backing for TDP leaders’ protest in Parliament. Amid the protest for implementation of AP reorganization promises in Parliament well, BJP senior leader LK Advani shared his opinion with TDP MPs- ‘it’s very unfortunate to see an unhealthy relationship between the two political partners. A mutual and healthy discussion between TDP and BJP should have solved this problem internally.’
The President of Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi also made use of this opportunity (rift between TDP and BJP) by tweeting – “The Congress Party supports the just demands of the people of Andhra Pradesh for special category status and speedy completion of the Polavaram project. It’s time for all parties to unite on this issue and support this call for justice. #INCStandsWithAndhra”
D Raja, National Secretary of CPI and senior Rajya Sabha member, demanded Special package for Andhra Pradesh by adding that ‘the promise made by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the upper house should be rightfully implemented by the current government.’ Leaders from Telangana – MP Kavitha (TRS) and Renuka Choudary (Congress)- also expressed their support for the demands of Andhra parliament members.
On the last day of Parliament, i.e on Friday, TDP MP Siva Prasad dressed up as ‘Pothuraju’ and staged a unique protest in the Parliament premises. The Friday session followed a brief discussion between the two parties in Delhi, in which Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Choudary convinced Centre to fulfill all the demands of state – Railway Zone, funds for Polavaram project, Steel Plant in Kadapa and financial aid for budget deficient period. #KhabarLive
