This 40th match will be played by top contenders of IPL 2022 between Gujarat Gaints and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai.

Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 40th game of the IPL 2022. The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 27th April(Wednesday) at 7:30 pm.

This is expected to be a very closely fought game as both sides have displayed brilliant form so far. SunRisers Hyderabad’s bowlers have done well but the side lacks depth in its batting and this will be a concern if the top order fails which has done well in the last five games.

Gujarat Titans have lost only once in the seven games- against SunRisers Hyderabad in the first leg but they have played and seen contributions from all bowlers. This would put them slightly ahead of the SunRisers Hyderabad though this would be a close game.

Gujarat Titans Strategy

Gujarat Titans have played 7 matches in the series and will be looking to strengthen their hold on the top spot, while SunRisers Hyderabad have also played 7 matches in the series and they are currently ranked second on the points table. So it will be a battle between the top 2 teams as per the points table.

Hardik Pandya’s side Gujarat Titans was pushed around in the last game by the Kolkata Knight Riders, but their bowlers went about defending the low total winning it by 8 runs.

With this win, the side nearly has a foot in the playoffs, and they would look to seal it defeating SRH. They had suffered a massive loss against Hyderabad earlier in the season and Hardik Pandya shall look to even it in their 2nd encounter.

Opener Shubman Gill has missed out in the last few games, and he would need to offer a good start in this game along with keeper Wriddhiman Saha.

Skipper Hardik Pandya played a good knock in the last game and he would aim to add runs with middle-order batters David Miller and Rahul Tewatia who have played brilliantly so far.

Rashid Khan and Abhinav Manohar need to do well in the lower middle order as the side has some weaknesses in this department.

Mohammad Shami has lived up to his reputation and he adds punch to the bowling attack for the side. He would need good support from Yash Dayal. Rashid Khan has generated a lot of turn from this track, and he will look to make life tough for the Hyderabad batsmen. Alzarri Joseph and Lockie Ferguson have a lot of experience and make Gujarat Titans a well-balanced attack.

SunRisers Hyderabad Gameplan

SunRisers Hyderabad has held themselves together beautifully after 2 consecutive defeats to start their season. Their bowling attack is the most feared attack this season so far. They have both experienced and exciting fast bowlers under their ranks. The likes of Marco Jansen and T Natarajan are extremely difficult to get away in their respective strong phases of the game for the opposition batsmen.

SRH haven’t changed their team in the last 2 games and the availability of Washington Sundar is still under the scanner, hence, there is no reason for them to change the winning combination for one more time.

Jagadeesha Suchith is doing an excellent job and making sure that SRH is not missing the quality of Washington Sundar with the ball.

The way they have used Umran Malik as a middle overs enforcer is alluring, to say the least. He was wayward initially but the trust they have shown in the youngster has turned him into a nightmare for the opposition batsmen.

Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson have given good starts in the last five games, and it has led the side to big wins. The middle-order has also done well, and they have a solid combination in Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, and Rahul Tripathi.

The side would however be worried about its lower middle order who haven’t been out in the middle in the last five games. The likes of Shashank Singh and Jagadeesha Suchith do not have a big reputation down the order and their lack of match practice may affect the side.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has gained form and along with Marco Jansen forms a strong bowling attack for the side. T Natarajan and Umran Malik have also bowled good lines winning games for the side, and they will look to carry their form forward in this game. Jagadeesha Suchith shall have to do well in the supporting role as the Gujarat Titans have big hitters of the ball in the side.

In the previous match between the two sides, Kane Williamson led from the front with a well-crafted 57, which was well supported by Abhishek Sharma’s 42 at the top as SunRisers Hyderabad chased down the target of 163 with 5 balls to spare.

Overall, this crucial match will become a game changer for both teams. The strategy and gameplan will be mostly play a vital role in winning the match for both teams. Let’s wait and see the good result. #KhabarLive #hydnews
