KCR’s newly renamed national party in great trouble as one of a key cabinet Minister May flock to BJP, according to informed sources.

The argument in BRS purportedly arose from Malla Reddy’s selection as the chairman of the market committee without consulting other district MLAs.

The growing internal strife within the ruling party, which was previously hidden behind the iron curtain, came to light under the banner of revolt raised by five Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLAs against Labour Minister Ch. Malla Reddy.

Malla Reddy attempted to alleviate the situation by denying any wrongdoing and saying the MLAs were like his brothers and the matter was “a family issue” that would be resolved.

The argument in BRS purportedly arose from Malla Reddy’s selection as the chairman of the market committee without consulting other district MLAs.

But according to sources speaking to #Khabarlive, there were a number of problems, such as a power struggle, tickets for relatives in the 2024 assembly and Lok Sabha elections, sharing of nominated jobs, etc.

It is rumoured that Mynampally Hanumantha Rao intends to run for the seat of MP while also wanting his son Rohit Reddy to run for MLA in the 2024 elections. And Malla Reddy, who wants tickets for his family, presents a barrier, according to TRS sources.

Perhaps for the first time since the founding of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which later became the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, ruling party MLAs have openly and publicly criticised fellow party members, particularly a Minister, which has generated questions in the political community.

“If I had been called, I would have met them. In any case, I’ll meet with them and resolve the situation. Please don’t make a big deal out of this tiny matter. We don’t disagree, and the party is not in a crisis. Simply a family matter, Malla Reddy said.

Recently, CBI and Enforcement Directorate raids on Malla Reddy’s and his relatives’ homes and workplaces for alleged money laundering made headlines. Malla Reddy, who oversees a number of engineering and medical colleges, was the target of these raids.

The five MLAs who blasted Malla Reddy include Malkajgiri TRS MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, K P Vivekananda (Quthbullapur), Madhavaram Krishna Rao (Kukatpally), Arekapudi Gandhi (Serilingampally) and Bethi Subash Reddy (Uppal).

Mynampally Hanmunatha Rao denied the meeting of MLAs was preplanned saying he had invited them for a function at home, but rivals deliberately spread rumours that there was a clandestine meeting of MLAs going on, which is false.

Rao said, since the media had swooped down on him, he would like to open it up and put the facts bare.

“Of course, we discussed several district issues including sharing of nominated posts. We are upset over Malla Reddy garu acting unilaterally in doling out nominated posts to his followers ignoring other MLAs in the district, which has hurt us. We brought the issue to his notice several times, including the recent appointment. But he ignored our plea. Our followers are eagerly waiting for nominated posts. We are nothing without our followers, who are instrumental in our wins,” Hanumantha Rao asserted.

He added, “Party will go forward only when hardworking and dedicated workers are recognised. If we ignore them, it will collapse one day. We have a great cadre, but due to the foolish attitude of some, the party is affected. Cadre is disappointed and unable to express their agony.”

Rao said he was the voice of TRS cadre and revealed the same. “The issue is Malla Reddy. We would not have objected if the nominated posts were given to hardworking seniors. But it was not done. Posts were given to those who already enjoyed it, resulting in cadre losing confidence. System will collapse one day. I am bringing this issue to the notice of the Chief Minister and KTR garu through the media.”

Vivekananda continues, “We have brought the issue to the attention of State leadership since District leadership has failed. There has also been discussion of other topics. A crucial district is Medchal. I asked Malla Reddy garu to resolve differences with other MLAs, but things are already in the open. Really, there isn’t a problem; rather, there is a communication gap. Ministers have received regular instructions from the chief minister to meet with district MLAs and resolve concerns.

There are also rumours that the TRS high command supported the uprising to remove controversial Malla Reddy, who is currently under investigation by the CBI and ED for alleged money laundering and who may eventually defect to the BJP.
