Nearly 40 girl students of Rani Laksmi Bai Hostel of Dr Hari Singh Gour University located in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh were allegedly stripped and searched by the hostel warden to check menstruating girls.

The hostel warden became upset after she found used sanitary pad lying in open on the hostel premises. The University Vice Chancellor R P Tiwari has ordered an enquiry into the incident. The girl students have refused to speak to the media.

“Yesterday a delegation of boarders have lodged a complaint. They have allaged they were stripped by the warden and her assistant. I have formed a three-member inquiry committee and it will submit its report within three days. We will take action on the basis of the inquiry committee report”, University vice chancellor R P Tiwari told Outlook over telephone.

According to reports, nearly 40 boarders of the Rani Laksmi Bai Hostel of Dr Hari Singh Gour University met University vice chancellor R P Tiwari and alleged that they were told to assemble at a place in the hostel and asked to strip one by one by the hostel warden.

The warden reportedly lost her cool when she found boarders ignoring her warnings and found sanitary pads lying in open in the washroom and in open area of the hostel premises.

The VC has termed the incident unfortunate. The hostel warden Prof. Chanda Ben has refused to comment. #KhabarLive
