According to highly placed party sources the decision of speculation clears the way of Telangana politics. After a lenghty thought and deliberations the Telangana chief minister and TRS party supremo Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) deliberately dropped the idea of making his only son K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) the next Chief Minister.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is understood to have dropped the idea of anointing his son and TRS working president K T Rama Rao as the chief minister soon.
According to the talk going on in the party circles, KCR reportedly told KTR that the latter would have to wait till the completion of the next assembly elections in the state, in the wake of reports that there would be simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and the state assembly next year.
“Reports from the Centre say Prime Minister Narendra Modi might go in for simultaneous elections to the Parliament and the state assemblies in the second half of 2022. Under these circumstances, KCR is learnt to have thought it is not appropriate for him to step down and make KTR as the CM,” sources said.
Apparently, KCR doesn’t want any kind of disgruntlement within the party if KTR is made the chief minister. Moreover, he thought KTR will have little time in tackling the onslaught of the Bharatiya Janata Party which is pulling out all stops to gain power in the state.
“So, KCR thought the TRS would go to polls only under his leadership. He is confident of bringing the party to power for a third time and then, he can hand over the government reins to his son K T Rama Rao,” sources said.
Initially, there were reports that KCR would anoint KTR as the chief minister after performing a maha yaagam at Yadadri in a month or two. But now, he is learnt to have dropped the idea. #KhabarLive #hydnews
