Telangana Congress will launch its election campaign on Thursday from Jogulamba-Gadwal district. The campaign launch will be preceded by special prayers at the Jogulamba Temple in Alampur.

Meanwhile, the party, TDP, CPI and TJS leaders met here on Wednesday to discuss the common minimum programme (CMP) for the Opposition alliance. In a likely indication of campaign priorities of these parties, CPI said CMP will include preparation of village-level development plans, while Telangana Jana Samiti said CMP will include a promise of filling up all government vacancies as a priority. It will also include waiver of farm loans of up to Rs 2 lakh. TDP politburo member Ravula Chandrashekhar Reddy said CMP will reflect people’s needs and aspirations.

Congress campaign committee chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said CMP will be a reflection of people’s agenda. Vikramarka also said Congress State president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and All India Congress Committee in-charge for the State RC Khuntia, among others, will offer prayers at the Jogulamba temple at 11 am.

The prayers will be followed by roadshows at Alampur Chowrasta, Shantinagar and Leeja, Vikramarka said. The party leaders will also address a public meeting at Rajiv Chowk in Gadwal town in the evening. The roadshows and the meeting will be addressed by senior party leaders Md Ali Shabbir, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar. #KhabarLive
