The maximum temperature recorded in the city is 20.8 degrees Celsius in the city, which is 7 degrees less than the normal.This is due to Cyclone Phethai which has hit Andhra Pradesh coast, according to the India Met Department.

Cloudy weather conditions, coupled with fog in many areas, prevailed all through Monday, bringing the maximum temperature down to 20.8 degrees Celsius, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad.

According to IMD, under the influence of Cyclone Pethai, temperatures fell rapidly due to the rainfall in different parts of Telangana, with the cloudy conditions resulting in the drop in the maximum temperature. “The minimum is also likely to drop by two to three notches from Tuesday,” a senior IMD official said.
Across the city, the winter’s intensified avatar made many shiver and crave for a piping hot cup of tea and snacks at roadside stalls and cafes. In the span of one week, the maximum temperature plummeted by over nine notches. The temperature during the day, which was 30.6 degrees Celsius on December 10, dropped to 20.8 degrees on Monday.
The continuous drizzling, heavy clouds and sweeping cold winds – this is the picture of Hyderabad climate now. Sudden change in the climate forced most citizens to dust their woollens out of the closet. Meteorologists have forecast that the cyclone will cause the temperatures to remain low for at least two more days.
Minimum temperature remained around 15 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad. There were heavy rains in Bhadradri, Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Nalgonda and Bhupalapally areas. Medak recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius.
In the last 24 hours, according to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, the maximum recorded was 25.6 degrees in Moulali, Trimulgherry and West Marredpally, followed by 26.4 degrees in Jubilee Hills and Nampally. #KhabarLive
