As we watch more and more games from the latest edition of IPL 2022, the same old question about SRH seems to linger around the corner.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) did not have the best of seasons in 2021. Having won 3 games, SRH were at the bottom of the table and ended up with 6 points. And with all that in mind, the board went ahead to do a re-shuffle, bring in the right attacking players and look to eliminate their poor run.

But what has changed? Can they do a turn around for the latest season of IPL 2022?

The New Wave of Players

Heading into the auction of IPL 2022, SRH went in with a purse of ₹68 crores. They started bidding with the first purchase of all-rounder Washington Sundar, who cost a total of ₹. 8.75 crore. They also went on to add Nicholas Pooran, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T. Natarajan, Suchith, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Kartik Tyagi and more.

This addition of players has and can create a difference and under an experienced captain like Kane Williamson, the squad can move forward to achieve more. But who are the players expected to shine? Let’s take a look.

  • Rahul Tripathi

One does not need to deliver an intro about the prolific batsman that Tripathi is. Having played match-winning knocks at KKR, Tripathi understands the IPL and knows how to deliver. With Hyderabad deciding to let go of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, it’s time for Tripathi to deliver the Sunrisers want to see a turnaround in the batting order.

  • Nicholas Pooran

Pooran did not have the best of seasons in 2021. Having played only a total of 12 games, Pooran went on to score 85 runs and could not see his strike rate go above 111.84. Having come in for Hyderabad at ₹. 10.75 crores, Pooran has a lot of work to do and hardly any time to settle in.

  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar

We have all seen how pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar can trick batters and get the wickets that his team needs. And at the moment, the Sunrisers need the pace and experience that Bhuvneshwar Kumar brings to the table if they want a better result than last season. Along with Kumar, Umran Malik and T. Natarajan will also have to step up.

  • Washington Sundar

The purchase of Washington Sundar was well appreciated as the all-rounder brings a lot to a team playing T20 cricket. Sundar, who has already gotten off to a good start, can be the type of player that Hyderabad wants him to be. He comes in and is the big hitter who finishes games and also grabs crucial wickets.

The Captaining of Kane Williamson

Despite the recent results, the board has shown faith in Williamson and thus decided to retain him as the captain for the new season. While his record for the previous season might not be something that the fans would have hoped for, he still boasts a considerable CV, one that can help get SRH the title.

While some may see it as a gamble, even going to the extent of classifying it as games like 3patti real cash game where you have risks, it is important to understand that nothing comes without risks. The New Zealand skipper has all the experience in the world and can take the team forward.

If the squad reaches a balance in bowling and attacking, SRH can continue their good form, which we saw for the initial games of the 2022 edition of IPL. So it all depends on how Williamson and company decide to take the ship forward. #KhabarLive #hydnews
