If you’re one of those people who love food, especially pizza and eating out, it’s a given that will be fond of Jamie’s Pizzeria. For the uninitiated, Jamie’s Pizzeria is a restaurant chain started by UK celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, famous for hosting a horde of cooking shows on TLC, where he would whip up delicious food (including pizzas) like it’s child’s play.
The pizzeria now expanded its wings to the city of Nizams. Yes, you heard it right! Jamies Pizzeria opened its doors for Hyderabadis recently. The outlet is located at Neharika Jubilee One #1355, Rd Number 1, Jubilee Hills.
Small and intimate, the place is ideal to gulp some quick yummy food. If you plan business meetings here, you might have to think twice because of the loud nature of the place. It was a treat to watch the pizzas made right in front of you, thanks to their open kitchen.
We started with hand-stretched garlic bread with Buffalo margarita, and fantastic fried gnocchi, followed by mac & cheese, paneer kadhai and Mediterranean chicken pizzas.
The just-fired pizza comes dusty with flour on the crust, each microgreen giving in with a crunch to our oral assault; every ingredient is testament to Oliver’s commitment to fresh locavorism. The appetizers are loaded with fresh cheese and fill your tummy the right way. Neither too spicy nor too bland, the food is loaded with flavours.
For a typical Hyderabadi, this place might not be the right choice because of the somewhat bland food, although they tried to embrace the local flavours. Otherwise, a perfect place to enjoy a perfectly baked pizza with a bunch of friends.
What caught our attention is its ambience. Even the architecture has been designed to take into account the local culture. The KBR park view, and a nicely painted wall that depicts the entire Hyderabad with some iconic structures, Irani chai, Karachi and yes, the rash auto-rickshaw riders, are a treat to look at.
In conclusion, Jamie’s pizzeria offers you not just pizzas but a lot more with adventurous flavours including their beverages. Simple, honest food, prepared with fresh ingredients, bold flavours and plenty of love, this place is a must-visit.
