Donations are pouring in huge amounts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to fund the measures being taken up by the state governments to tackle the Coronavirus menace in the two states.
From politicians to film stars to philanthropists, everybody is donating their mite to the chief minister relief funds in both the states to take up the relief measures.
In Telangana, lawmakers from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi donated one month’s salary and one year’s Constituency Development Fund, totalling to an amount of Rs 500 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the government combat the deadly coronavirus in the State.
Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs of the party extended complete support to the State government’s efforts under the leadership of chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in successfully countering the corona pandemic in the State.
Each MP gets Rs five crore funds per year to develop their constituency, and with this donation, the 16 TRS MPs will be donating Rs 80 crore to the CMRF. A consent letter in this regard was handed over by TRS Parliamentary Party Leader Dr K Keshav Rao and others to KCR at Pragathi Bhavan here.
TRS MLAs and MLCs also decided to contribute one month’s salary to the CMRF. An amount of Rs 3 crore fund is released for each MLA and MLC for their Constitutency development per year.
The TRS MLAs and MLCs also decided to donate one year’s constituency development fund amount to CMRF, the TRSLP announced.
In Andhra Pradesh, employee associations have donated their one-day salary and allowances amounting to Rs 100 crore to CMRF. They submitted a letter to this effect to chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday.
Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Employees’ Union President Venkatrami Reddy said the government is taking all steps to handle coronavirus outbreak in the state.
The union members hailed the village secretariat system which is the forefront in fighting in this tough situation of the pandemic virus outbreak.
Power star Pawan Kalyan announced Rs 2 crore on his behalf for the Coronavirus relief. Of this amount, he would give Rs 50 lakh each to the CMRF of Telangana and AP, while the remaining Rs 1 crore would go into PM Relief Fund, he said. #KhabarLive
